The alarm rings, it’s time to get up. A brand-new day waits. However, you are too tired to get. The day feels hectic and stressful. This is because there is no space and time for self-care.
The secret door to change is inside your heart. Mindful transitions create a calm space and feel anchored. These transitions are signals for your mind to switch gears.
Creating Mindful Transitions
There are three transitory times in a day. Therefore, three practices set for morning, afternoon and night are required.
Here is a list of practices –
Early Bird
Wake up ten minutes early and go out to connect with nature. Take ten deep breaths and check your feelings.
Adopt a Plant
Every day meet this green baby. Write three observations in a note-book.This can be a morning and evening practice.
Journal
A gratitude journal is a great way to begin or end your day.
Sound Therapy
Listen to calming music or guided meditation.
Affirm
Read or write ten affirmations and meditate on the meaning.
Love my Dog
Spend five minutes with your pet
If you work from home begin and end your workday with a ritual. This creates a boundary between work and life. Get ready and go for a walk. When you enter your home, it is your office and start working. At the end of the day again, go out for a walk and come home.
It is easy to add a practice together with a habit. If you have a habit of drawing all the curtains in the morning, open your windows and take five deep breaths. Practice in place, right? These small practices transform your day. Soon you will look forward to getting up as the alarm ring.
